Job summary

Leidos in Aiea, HI is seeking a Freight Operations Manager to lead land-based freight planning and execution across the Indo-Pacific AOR, supporting DoW logistics. You will coordinate with pilots, port crews, carriers, and customers to ensure compliant, efficient, and cost-effective surface transportation across the Pacific region.

This role requires 10+ years in freight/logistics, strong leadership, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field.
10+ years of progressively responsible experience in freight transportation/logistics, including 5+ years in a senior role.
Experience with trucking, drayage, line-haul, carrier management, routing, and multimodal operations.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and oversee land-based freight transportation operations across the Indo-Pacific AOR.
Evaluate and select qualified motor carriers and freight forwarders based on capability, capacity, performance, cost, and risk.
Monitor carrier performance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, schedules, and safety standards.
Coordinate with ports, airports, warehouses, customer locations, and project sites.
Provide operational guidance on cost, capacity, reliability, and risk of surface freight operations.
Support contingency planning and alternate routing when operations are disrupted.
Develop and standardize land transportation procedures and workflows.
