The American School for the Deaf (ASD) is hiring a PACES Clinical Social Worker for the PACES Residential Treatment Program in West Hartford, CT. The role involves providing therapeutic support to Deaf and hard-of-hearing children with emotional and behavioral challenges, crisis intervention, and collaboration with families and school staff.

The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work, be licensed or eligible (LPC/CISW/LCSW), and be fluent in ASL.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work.
  • LICENSURE: LPC, CISW, LCSW or equivalent express therapies credentials.
  • Fluency in ASL required.
  • Experience counseling Deaf/Hard of Hearing clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group and family counseling to students.
  • Develop measurable goals and IEP objectives; participate in case planning.
  • Conduct crisis intervention and on-call support evenings/weekends.
  • Coordinate with parents, families and community resources; support transitions/ discharge planning.
  • Maintain student records as required by licensing agencies.
  • Assist with treatment planning and implementation in residential/school settings.
