Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Physician Assistant to support the General Surgery service in Milwaukee, WI. This role is 1.0 FTE with 36 patient contact hours, utilizing EPIC for documentation and orders. You will participate in pre- and postoperative care, patient assessments, and coordination of care with the surgical team.

Graduate of an accredited PA program is required; Master's degree preferred. Licensure and BLS/ALS credentials are part of the requirements.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Advanced Life Support and BLS credentials preferred.

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
• Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.
• Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
• Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):

• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Physician Assistant.

Education

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience preferred.
