Job summary

Lane Construction is seeking a seasoned Fleet Manager in Connecticut to oversee the receipt and deployment of equipment, manage rentals, and ensure compliance. You will coordinate maintenance, inspections, and policy adherence to meet project timelines and safety standards.

In this role, you will handle annual inventories, license and inspection tracking, and cost control while supporting environmental compliance and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in fleet/equipment management.
• Experience with PM work orders and repairs.
• Knowledge of DOT/state inspections and licensing.

Responsibilities

• Confirms receipt of new equipment and documents.
• Manages short-term rentals, procurement, utilization tracking, and cost control.
• Oversees equipment repairs: assesses needs, researches options, enters work orders, and manages costs.
• Conducts annual physical inventory of assets within assigned area.
• Ensures pre-shift inspections are completed for fleet and equipment.
• Coordinates equipment moves and plant installations, including inspections and transport.

• Confirms receipt of new equipment and documents accordingly.
• Manages short-term rentals, including procurement, utilization tracking, and cost control.
• Oversees equipment repairs: assesses needs, researches options, enters work orders, and managescosts.
• Conducts annual physical inventory of assets within assigned area.
• Ensures pre-shift inspections are completed for fleet and equipment.
• Monitors oil sampling every 250 hours for all equipment compartments.
• Ensures completion of preventive maintenance (PM) work orders for rolling stock.
• Manages fleet vehicle compliance including licenses, tags, and DOT/state inspections.
• Oversees inspections for DOT, lifts, cranes, and plants.
• Handles permitting for plant-related systems (building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing).
• Coordinates equipment moves and plant installations, including inspections and transport.
• Tracks and verifies equipment hour meter readings and support environmental compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
