Job summary

The Lane Construction Corporation is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent in the Norfolk, VA area to oversee field personnel and daily operations on large civil infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with subcontractors, monitor risks, support engineers with quantities, and promote a strong safety culture on site.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in heavy civil construction, with proficiency in planning, cost control, and project closeout.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience
• Heavy civil construction experience required
• HCSS experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversees field personnel, daily/weekly schedules, and construction operations.
• Collaborates with other Superintendents and subcontractors.
• Monitors risks and status in project review meetings.
• Assists Engineers with quantities and productions.
• Establishes and promotes a safety culture.
• Ensures labor, equipment and materials are maintained and used cost-effectively.
• Manages employees with mentoring and feedback.
• Schedules and oversees field personnel and construction operations.
• Ensures production goals are achieved.
• Ensures personnel adhere to Safety and Quality Standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Description

• Oversees field personnel, daily/weekly schedules, and construction operations.
• Collaborates with other Superintendents and subcontractors.
• Closely monitors communicates risks, status etc. in project review meetings.
• Assists Engineers with quantities and productions.
• Establishes and promotes a safety culture.
• Ensures labor, equipment and materials are maintained, protected, secured and used at optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Manages employees by mentoring, coaching, providing feedback and assessing performance.
• Schedules and oversees field personnel, daily/weekly schedules, and all construction operations.
• Ensures production goals are achieved.
• Ensures project personnel adheres to Safety and Quality Standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma or GED
