Job summary

The State of Iowa invites applications for an Insurance Examiner 1 within the Insurance Division. The role focuses on regulatory reviews of Property & Casualty filings and related forms to ensure compliance with Iowa law and consumer protections.

The examiner will support rule development and use SERFF while engaging with NAIC committees. Travel may be required for positions in this class, including overnight and out-of-state assignments.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in insurance, accounting, actuarial science, risk management, finance, or business.
• Total of four years of education and/or full-time experience, where thirty semester hours of course work equals one year of experience in related fields.

Responsibilities

• Perform regulatory reviews of Property & Casualty policy filings and related forms to ensure compliance with Iowa law and consumer protection standards.
• Assist with development and review of Iowa Administrative Rules and Iowa Code.
• Leverage SERFF and participate in NAIC and state regulator working groups.
• Collaborate with team and communicate findings effectively in a dynamic environment seeking AI-enabled regulatory insights.
