Job summary

State of Vermont’s Department of Financial Regulation, Captive Insurance Division, seeks an Insurance Examiner III to perform examinations and ongoing oversight of Vermont-domiciled captive insurance companies. You will apply a risk-focused approach to governance, strategy, IT systems, internal controls, and financial reporting to ensure obligations to insureds and regulatory compliance.

Travel may be required; advanced degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent, plus 2+ years in financial

Qualifications

• Master's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or an equally relevant field.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Employees must obtain CPA or AFE designation within two years of hire or promotion.

Responsibilities

• Examinations and ongoing oversight of Vermont domiciled captive insurance companies.
• Risk-focused evaluation of governance, strategy, IT systems, internal controls, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Travel as needed and participation on task forces or special projects.
