AEP in New Albany, OH seeks a P&C Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing protection and control engineering team responsible for scoping, designing, and engineering equipment and protection schemes to expand the electric grid while maintaining safety, reliability, and compliance.

You will be the technical authority and people leader who ensures timely, high‑quality P&C deliverables across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• Ten years of electric utility engineering experience with six years in design, construction and operation of protection and control systems.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in any U.S. state preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, mentor, and provide career coaching for P&C engineering staff.
• Review and approve protection schematics, relay settings, wiring diagrams, and testing documentation and bills of materials.
• Lead settings and coordination studies and produce relay setting/configuration files.
• Perform fault analysis and maintain ASPEN fault study cases across the NERC region.
• Represent P&C engineering on complex station technical matters and coordinate with stakeholders.
