Job summary

AIA Minnesota is seeking an experienced Owner’s Rep (Architecture) to lead owner-side design and delivery on complex commercial projects from planning through closeout. You’ll guide design teams, coordinate consultants, and maintain alignment with owner expectations.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture required.
• Significant architectural or design project leadership experience.
• Experience leading complex projects and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
• Knowledge of design development, permitting, codes, construction documentation, and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an owner-side architectural lead throughout the design and delivery process.
• Lead multiple projects from early planning and programming through construction and closeout.
• Direct and coordinate external architects, engineers, commissioning teams, and specialty consultants.
• Lead design reviews and ensure projects meet operational, functional, and quality objectives.
• Coordinate decisions between internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and permitting authorities.
• Review architectural and engineering documents for completeness, constructability, cost, and functionality.
• Guide consultants toward project milestones while maintaining quality and performance.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, consultant costs, and change orders.
• Identify design and delivery risks early and develop practical solutions.
• Provide leadership updates regarding project progress, schedules, budgets, and risks.
