Job summary

AEC Resources is seeking an experienced Owner’s Rep (Architecture) to guide complex commercial projects from planning through construction. You will lead design teams, coordinate consultants, and align design with the owner’s objectives in a collaborative environment.

The role emphasizes ownership, leadership, and big-picture delivery rather than drawing production, with responsibilities across budgets, schedules, and risk management.

Qualifications

• A professional degree in Architecture.
• Significant architectural or design project leadership experience.
• Architectural licensure is preferred but is not required.
• Experience leading complex projects and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
• Experience managing outside architecture and engineering consultants.
• Knowledge of design development, permitting, codes, construction documentation, and project delivery.
• Experience with commercial, hospitality, retail, mixed-use, healthcare, corporate, or similarly complex building projects.
• The ability to balance design quality with schedule, budget, constructability, and operational considerations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an owner-side architectural lead throughout the design and delivery process.
• Lead multiple projects from early planning and programming through construction and closeout.
• Direct and coordinate external architects, engineers, commissioning teams, and specialty consultants.
• Lead design reviews and help ensure projects meet operational, functional, and quality objectives.
• Coordinate decisions between internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and permitting authorities.
• Review architectural and engineering documents for completeness, constructability, cost, and functionality.
• Guide consultants toward project milestones while maintaining expectations for quality and performance.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, consultant costs, and change orders.
• Identify design and delivery risks early and help develop practical solutions.
• Provide leadership with clear updates regarding project progress, schedules, budgets, and potential risks.
