Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) seeks a qualified Project Manager - Structural in Saint Petersburg, FL to blend hands-on design with client leadership.

You will guide structural projects for healthcare, commercial, education, and industrial facilities, balancing technical excellence with stakeholder communication and business development. You will lead design teams, coordinate with architects and other engineers, and ensure conformance with codes while mentoring junior staff and supporting SSR’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in one of the major technical disciplines
• Professional Engineer licensure preferred for those with ABET degree
• Ten years of practical experience on similar projects (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Lead structural projects balancing technical delivery with client-facing responsibilities
• Plan and execute structural scope for new buildings, additions, and renovations
• Review structural analysis and design per IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC standards
• Coordinate structural drawings, models, and specs in Revit/BIM
• Manage assessments of existing buildings including on-site investigations
• Develop technical reports and calculations to communicate recommendations
• Serve as primary client contact, managing expectations and relationships
• Support business development and capture planning with executives
• Lead development of scopes, fees, and proposals for projects
• Monitor budgets, staffing, and schedules to meet profitability targets
• Coordinate work across internal disciplines and external subconsultants
• Provide construction phase services and site observations
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to SSR's standards and tools
