Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc (SSR) is seeking a Project Manager II to lead medium to high complexity projects, coordinating multi-discipline teams and ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality goals are met.

You will serve as the primary client contact, manage financial performance, supervise subconsultants, and drive project success from kickoff through closeout while supporting SSR’s ESOP culture and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Technical or Bachelor's degree in engineering with eight years related project experience
  • Twelve years of practical experience on similar projects
  • Ability to manage projects of varying size and complexity
  • Professional Engineer Licensure preferred (required by ABET-accredited engineers)
  • Experience managing healthcare projects

Responsibilities

  • Confirm project scope and requirements with clients and stakeholders; document assumptions and decisions
  • Develop proposals and financial plans; prepare preliminary manhour budgets with CRM, Department Head, or Operations Director
  • Ensure contracts are fully executed and align teams to obligations
  • Lead effective project kickoffs to convey scope, budgets, roles, risks, and expectations
  • Finalize discipline work plans and budgets with design leads; update plans as needed
  • Establish schedules with client input and milestones for timely information flow
  • Schedule and sequence work; monitor manpower plans and maintain profit variance targets
  • Maintain complete project documentation and logs (RFI, submittal, decisions, risk)
  • Facilitate meetings with owners, clients, architects, and contractors; document decisions
  • Track budgets, fee burn, earned value, and revenue forecasts
  • Identify, negotiate, and administer fees for additional services; manage change orders
  • Coordinate proactive QA/QC plans and timely submittals to meet standards
  • Manage Construction Administration to ensure conformance with design intent
  • Ensure accurate invoices; track AR status and revenue projections
  • Resolve design/coordination issues by root-cause analysis and cross-discipline solutions
  • Lead closeout activities and capture lessons learned
  • Grow client relationships through delivery excellence and business development
