Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Regional Program Specialist - Reserve to support SAF and IS programs with overseas deployments. You will manage volunteers, conduct emergency communications, and oversee service delivery across multiple locations, including training and mentoring mobile teams.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in program management, strong public speaking, and familiarity with military culture and protocols; readiness for austere environments and security clearances is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, human resources management, community organization, social or health sciences, or related field is required; or related equivalent experience.
• A minimum of five years related experience in program management or related field is required.
• Public speaking skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing are required.
• Strong computer skills.
• Familiarity with military culture, regulations and protocol is strongly desired.
• Experience with American Red Cross programs and services is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate emergency communication messages and related support services to military members and families.
• Coordinate and conduct follow-up services with clients and ensure activities are logged.
• Maintain rosters, unit contacts, and case logs in alignment with mission guidelines.
• Support contingency operations during high-volume events and serve as local liaison for Hero Care casework.
• Monitor service delivery outcomes and ensure accurate documentation and reporting of program activities.
• Collaborate with Red Cross leadership on deployment feedback, staff mentorship, and onboarding for mobile team members.
• Recruit and mentor leadership volunteers to support SAF/IS and other programs.
• Promote a positive, inclusive volunteer environment aligned with Red Cross values.
• Coordinate educational briefings, community workshops, and events supporting SAF/IS objectives.
• Provide family support services including wellness check-ins and referrals.
