Job summary

Grafton in Winchester, VA is hiring Direct Support Professionals for the Overnight Residential Assistant role in our Children & Adolescence program. Under general supervision you will support clients at bedtime and during morning routines, conduct health checks, document progress, and help implement treatment plans.

You will work with a dedicated team, promote safety, crisis management, and positive behavior support.

Qualifications

• Must be 19 years of age and able to pass background checks.
• High school diploma or GED required; related degrees preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Experience or training in care for children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support clients at bedtime and during morning hygiene, dressing and breakfast.
• Conduct 15-minute health and safety checks after client bedtime.
• Document client behavior and participate in programming.
• Maintain safety, supervise activities, and use proactive behavior strategies.
• Collaborate with the Treatment Team and report to supervisor/manager.
• Demonstrate trauma-informed care and crisis management when needed.
