Job summary

The Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Springfield, VA, part of PetVet Care Centers, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for the Overnight Shift to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks. Responsibilities include patient care, triage, anesthesia preparation, and clerical duties.

Qualifications include 18+ years of age, a high school diploma, and 2+ years in an emergency setting; preferred certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 2+ years' ER experience; strong veterinary technician skills and client communication

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet clients and dogs/cats, take weight and vitals on arrival
• Triage patients and assist licensed technicians with meds
• Assist doctors with meds and restraint as directed
• Perform laboratory tests and radiographs
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment
• Maintain medical records and ensure accurate documentation
• Keep hospital clean and safe, including kennels and labs
• Overnight shift coverage and reliable full-time presence
