Animal Emergency Center of Yorktown in Yorktown, VA seeks a dedicated Veterinary Assistant for overnight shifts. The role supports veterinarians with patient care, lab work, imaging, and anesthesia, with opportunities for hands-on training and development.

Formación

• AVeterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience is required.
• Previous ER / Urgent Care experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work overnight shifts.
• Compassionate and calm team-player.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs are a bonus.
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance knowledge and skillset.

Responsabilidades

• Restrain pets safely for procedures and sample collection.
• Triage incoming patients and monitor vital signs.
• Collect and analyze lab samples; perform radiographs and imaging.
• Provide nursing care to medical and hospitalized patients.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly with clients; administer medications.
• Assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia management.
