US3090 Sygma Illinois (The Sygma Network, Inc) is seeking an operations clerk for the transportation department, responsible for DOT regulatory compliance and supporting daily clerical tasks in a fast-paced logistics environment.

The overnight shift (training on 2nd shift) includes gathering and processing driver paperwork, answering phones, coordinating with operations, processing inbound freight, and generating daily reports to help supervisors monitor performance and resolve issues.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
2 years of customer service experience preferred.
2 years’ distribution/transportation experience in a high-volume, route delivery operation preferred.
Valid driver's license with insurability standards.
Strong leadership, analytical and motivational skills.
Knowledge of DOT regulations.
Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Windows, Excel and Word.
Understanding of manpower scheduling.

Responsibilities

Gather, organize and process driver daily paperwork, logs, manifest, and vehicle inspections.
Answer phones, route calls and take messages.
Research operational challenges, order supplies, liaise between office and operations.
Respond to delivery associate issues and provide resolutions.
Process inbound freight paperwork weekly.
Serve as primary contact for inbound freight issues.
Run daily reports for operations supervisors (observations, vehicle tracking).
Perform all other tasks as assigned by supervision or management.
