Job summary

Meijer is opening a brand-new supercenter in Glen Carbon/Edwardsville, IL, and seeks an engaged Overnight Team Leader to plan, direct and supervise store operations from day one. You will mentor team members, manage staffing, training, and ensure customer service aligns with company standards while controlling P&L and achieving sales goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze information for decisions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image through courteous, friendly service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs.
• Promote Career paths and development, coach for promotions.
• Document disciplinary actions and advise on discharges.
• Responsible for P&L, sales goals and shrink control for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
• Mentor team members to exceed service and sales goals; ensure training completeness.
