Job summary

As a night shift in-house technologist, you will support the surgical team by anticipating needs, ensuring a clean, ready operating room, and upholding aseptic standards throughout procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the circulating nurse with patient positioning, confirmation/preparation of operative site, care of operative specimens and room turnover.
• Establish and maintain an organized sterile field.
• Provide scrub assistance during procedures with knowledge of anatomy and instrumentation.
• Apply aseptic principles and verify sterile instruments before procedures; report any breaks in aseptic technique.
• Open sterile supplies, instruments and sutures based on procedure and surgeon preference card.
• Follow scrubbing, gowning, gloving, back table setup, draping and counting with the circulating nurse.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) NBSTSA or NCCT

Current BLS certification
