Job summary

VILLANOVA UNIVERSITY is seeking a Program Counselor for the STOVS Overnight program, dedicated to providing student support and creating a welcoming learning environment. Responsibilities include assisting students, coordinating activities, and mentoring.

The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of student development, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to provide constructive feedback. The position requires evening work throughout the program.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of student development theory.
• Ability to provide supportive and constructive feedback to students.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to relate easily & effectively with students and staff.
• Knowledge of issues of difference in higher education, particularly educational equity.
• Proven ability to use MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
• Possess traits of good judgment and maturity that align with the University’s mission.
• Will be required to work evenings throughout the duration of the program.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to students after class.
• Coordinate student activities and preparation for STOVS.
• Assist students in study hall through one-on-one mentoring.
• Meet with students to discuss goal-setting and academic confidence.
• Assist with evening social and learning activities.
• Offer support to students struggling with coursework.
