Job summary

Meijer is hiring a store leadership role to plan, direct and supervise day-to-day operations across departments. You will mentor staff, drive sales, ensure service excellence and uphold Meijer standards. Strong leadership and communication are essential for success.

The role emphasizes staffing, training, and strategic decision-making to deliver an excellent customer experience while maintaining a safe, well-presented store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas are helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions and suggestive selling.
• Mentor team members across SDITs, hourly staff and leaders
• Certifications completed as required.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Manage P&L, sales targets and shrink control for the department.
• Promote career paths and development opportunities within the team.
• Document disciplinary actions and make discharge recommendations.
• Provide exceptional customer service and drive store sales.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet Meijer standards.
• Ensure team training and readiness across roles.
• Maintain store appearance and prime shopping hours.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings.
• Promote a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
