The Dinex Group, Chef Daniel Boulud’s internationally acclaimed restaurant group, is seeking a reliable and hardworking Overnight Steward to join the team at Le Gratin, our French-inspired restaurant in Downtown Manhattan.

We are committed to creating an exceptional experience for every guest and are looking for a dedicated team member who takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and sanitation.

The Overnight Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the kitchen and surrounding work areas, including the dining room, restrooms, locker room, public areas, and sidewalk, as needed. This position also operates the dishwashing machine and cleans all soiled dishware, glassware, flatware, kitchen pots, pans, and small wares.

Schedule: Overnight, 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

Essential Duties

• Report to the assigned station on time and with the required supplies to complete the scheduled shift.

• Follow all instructions and safety warnings on cleaning products and equipment.

• Communicate clearly and professionally with managers and team members.

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all assigned work areas and equipment throughout the shift, in accordance with Health Department regulations and restaurant standards.

• Operate dishwashing equipment and properly clean and organize dishware, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen small wares.

• Recognize and report maintenance issues with kitchen equipment to management.

• Assist other stations as needed to ensure all cleaning and closing tasks are completed before the end of the shift.

• Maintain a safe, organized, and sanitary work environment throughout the overnight shift.

Competencies & Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a stewarding or dishwashing position preferred.

• Ability to read and follow instructions and safety labels on cleaning products.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and complete tasks accurately and thoroughly.

• Knowledge of proper food safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures.

• Ability to communicate effectively with managers and teammates.

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to work the overnight schedule from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

• French language skills are a plus, but not required.
