Job summary

Mercy Washington is seeking a Polysomnographic Technician to assist in overnight sleep studies under the supervision of an RPSGT or physician. You will prepare and calibrate equipment, monitor patients, score studies, and produce detailed reports to support patient care.

You will educate patients on sleep disorders and PAP therapy, maintain equipment, and document all care in the EMR, ensuring infection control and patient safety throughout the night.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Graduate of an accredited Polysomnography program.
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT).
• BLS (American Heart Association) within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform overnight sleep studies, including polysomnography, CPAP/BiPAP titration, split-night protocols, and MSLT.
• Prepare and calibrate equipment in accordance with AASM standards.
• Monitor patients throughout the night and respond to clinical events with confidence.
• Accurately score studies and produce detailed reports.
• Educate patients on sleep disorders and PAP therapy.
• Maintain equipment and follow infection control protocols.
• Document all care in the EMR.
