Job summary

Persante Health Care seeks a Polysomnographic Technologist to perform overnight sleep studies under supervision, prepare patients, monitor data, and ensure safety and comfort. NY licensure or eligibility is required, with potential assignments across Westchester and Courtland Mannor sites.

The role requires an active RPSGT credential, BLS/CPR, and ability to work overnights. Employment offers competitive hourly pay and benefits consistent with a full-time position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to maintain required CEUs per BRPT and accrediting standards.
• Active NY Polysomnographic Technologist license or eligibility before start.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Overnight sleep studies in a clinical setting.
• Preferred: Associate degree in sleep medicine or related field.
• Preferred: Graduation from an accredited sleep technology program.

Responsibilities

• Explain testing procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Apply recording and monitoring electrodes and sensors for sleep studies.
• Create and maintain a sleep-conducive environment (lighting, noise, temperature).
• Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout testing.
• Monitor physiological data and recognize artifacts.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment to ensure data accuracy.
• Apply testing and therapies as ordered according to protocols.
• Provide detailed documentation throughout the testing process.
• Complete post-study data validation and documentation review.
• Ensure accurate patient information is linked to study data.
• Maintain sleep lab equipment and report mechanical issues.
• Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols.
• Participate in training and professional development.
