Welcome-Home,-In in Columbia, MO, seeks an overnight Shelter Staff to provide staffing, oversight, and security for Veterans in a Transitional Shelter Facility.

Shift is Thursday through Monday, 11 pm to 7 am, 40 hours per week; salary range $17.00-$18.00 per hour; reports to Operations Director; collaborates with on-call staff and participants.

This role emphasizes confidentiality, frontline reception, and incident documentation, ensuring a safe environment for veterans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Reliable / Dependable.
• Typing and data entry experience.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Clean background check and drug screen.
• Friendly customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Acts as manager of the facility when supervisory staff are absent.
• Maintains confidentiality of all program participants.
• Keeps front desk and reception coverage including phone coverage.
• Assist participants, the public, and volunteers as needed.
• Assist with meal preparation, food distribution, and kitchen cleanup.
• Monitor and document participant traffic and enforce rules and conduct.
• Document incidents with detailed notes for next shift.
• Provide security checks and walkthroughs of the property.
• Perform light cleaning and janitorial tasks as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
• Assist with participant intake and discharge as required.
• Complete trainings and comply with supervision.
