Lantern Community Services is seeking Residential Aides for an overnight shift at the Hudson Bay shelter in the Bronx, NY. The role involves direct client support, coordination with case management, and maintaining daily logs and records.

Shifts run 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, and 11:00 PM–7:00 AM with possible weekend requirements. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years in related settings; Food Handler's Certification is required or obtained within 3

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years in shelter, security, customer service or healthcare preferred.
• Food handler certification required or must be obtained within 3 months.
• Strong crisis intervention and decision-making skills for urgent situations.
• Basic computer proficiency and strong organizational abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse clients.

Responsibilities

• Foster a welcoming, supportive environment for clients.
• Complete client intakes: documentation, orientation, bed assignments, belongings laundering.
• Assist with planning and coordinating recreational activities and events.
• Monitor activity, maintain logs, sign-ins, and records.
• Collaborate with Shift Supervisors and Security using Safe Crisis Management.
• Prepare electronic shift summaries, daily census, and curfew tracking.
• Support meal service, fire drills, inventory checks, and escorting clients to appointments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
