Job summary

MedVet is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our emergency and specialty team in Cleveland. The role supports hospitalized patients, assists veterinarians, and provides client education.

A State Registered Veterinary Technician license is required, with nursing or critical care experience highly valued. Schedule is 7p-7:30a Thursday-Saturday, with a compensation range of $18.75–$35.00 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a State Registered Veterinary Technician license.
• Experience in nursing or critical care preferred.
• Proficient in calculations and conversions (drugs, CRIs, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Coordinate with the care team on treatment plans and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education on home care, medications, and wellness of hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house lab testing and prepare samples for outside labs.
