Job summary

MedVet is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our fast‑paced ER team in Akron, OH. The role offers a Tuesday 10a-8:30p and Thu-Sat 12p-10:30p schedule with a hiring range of $18.75-35.00/hr based on experience.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment collaboration, client education, anesthesia, and in-house lab work. Must hold a State RVT license and have emergency experience preferred.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license required.
• Prior veterinary experience required; emergency experience preferred.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, rate infusions, conversions).
• Flexible hours and ability to work extra shifts when needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Collaborate with patient care team on treatment plans and nursing care.
• Educate clients on home care, medications and wellness updates.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house lab testing and prepare samples for outside labs.
