Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking an Overnight Pharmacy Technician (12a-8a) to join our team under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The role involves competency assessments, inventory management, stock control, and processing orders with careful attention to accuracy and safety.

Responsibilities include sterile compounding under supervision, inventory maintenance, and coordination with health care teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 2 years experience as a Pharmacy Technician or completion of NYU Pharmacy Technician training program.
• Knowledge of medical/pharmaceutical terminology and labeling/dispensing procedures.
• Excellent organization and communication skills; strong attention to detail; computer literacy and basic Microsoft programs.

Responsibilities

• Completes annual competency assessments.
• Stores and secures stock; reviews for expired medications.
• Places and expedites orders; verifies receipts; documents receiving in Epic.
• Maintains inventory and anticipates medication demands.
• Prepares sterile products under pharmacist supervision; adheres to sterile compounding procedures.
• Maintains and cleans equipment and work areas; ensures proper labeling and packaging.
• May train newly hired Pharmacy Technicians per guidelines.
• Answers phones, triages medication order inquiries, and interfaces with health care providers and patients.
