Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Part-time Pharmacy Technician for weekend shifts with rotating days/evenings/overnights. Under supervision of a registered pharmacist, you will manage inventory, ordering, receiving, sterile compounding, and Epic system use to support patient care.

Candidate requirements include a High School Diploma and 2 years of pharmacy tech experience or completion of NYU's training program, plus Pharmacy Technician certification and NYS registration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Pharmacy Technician certs and NYS registration preferred per guidelines.
• 2 years of pharmacy tech experience or completion of NYU Pharmacy Technician training.
• Strong organization, attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Complete annual competency assessments and unit inspections as assigned.
• Store, secure, and routinely review stock for expired medications.
• Place and expedite orders; verify receipts and document transactions.
• Record receiving in Epic and supplier websites; ensure accurate invoicing.
• Handle controlled substances per State and Federal laws.
• Operate pharmacy technology and medication procurement processes efficiently.
• Stock, deliver to units on schedule; use approved delivery methods.
• Maintain inventory and anticipate medication demands; remove outdated meds.
• Perform sterile compounding under supervision; follow IV room procedures.
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain equipment and work areas.
• Repack doses as needed and document procedures accurately.
• Use Hospital Information System; review patient data and print labels.
• Support unit dose drug distribution and patient medication profiles.
• Assist in training new Pharmacy Technicians per guidelines.
• Answer phones professionally; triage medication order inquiries.
• Interact with healthcare providers and patients; refer to Pharmacist when needed.
• Identify drugs to order; place orders with wholesalers and suppliers.
• Receive medications promptly and document receipts; report discrepancies.
• Maintain adherence to 340B Drug Pricing Program requirements.
