Job summary

UPMC Chartwell in Erie, PA is seeking a full-time Overnight Pharmacy Technician/Trainee to join a dedicated team within the UPMC Health System. The role covers sterile and nonsterile preparation, dispensing, and medication distribution, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

The position follows a 7-on/7-off overnight schedule, 7:30 PM–7:00 AM, Wednesday to Wednesday, with every-other weekend shifts and no holiday requirements. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Filling: prepare cytotoxic and hazardous drugs using aseptic technique.
• General: maintain inventory levels in stock rooms, carousels, and dispensing machines.
• Distribution: retrieve discontinued medications and return them to the appropriate area.
• General: ensure proper hand hygiene in pharmacy and units.
• Distribution: assist in medication distribution and handling of controlled substances.
• General: finalize sales using cash register and follow cash handling policies.
• General: ensure safe storage of all medications per regulations.
• General: assist in training pharmacy personnel and students.
• Compliance: adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and PBM contracting requirements.
• Filling: prepare oral and injectable medications including TPN for the correct patient.
