Job summary

UPMC Chartwell in Erie, PA is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join a dedicated team. You will assist with sterile and nonsterile medication preparation, medication filling, and distribution within the UPMC Health System, following all regulatory standards.

This role operates on a rotating schedule with 8-hour shifts (10:00–18:30 or 12:00–20:30) and weekend/holiday rotations; weekend shifts run 8:00–16:30. A generous benefits package and sign-on bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting with sterile and nonsterile medication preparation.
• Ability to procure and maintain daily inventory in stock rooms and automated systems.
• Follows regulatory requirements by health authorities and accrediting bodies.

Responsibilities

• Filling: Work in the Sterile Product area preparing cytotoxic and hazardous drugs using aseptic technique.
• General: Procure and maintain inventory in pharmacy stock rooms and automated dispensing systems.
• Distribution: Retrieve discontinued medications and return them to the appropriate pharmacy area.
• General: Practice hand hygiene in the pharmacy and units.
• Distribution: Participate in medication distribution including carts and emergency carts per policy.
• General: Ensure medications are stored securely per regulations and assist in training staff.
