Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an Overnight Patient Access Specialist to support patient intake and registration in Lexington, KY. You will be the first contact, helping ensure accurate scheduling and financial clearance for patients.

This onsite role runs 9p-7a, every other weekend, and requires insurance verification, co-pay collection, and use of EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner to maintain HIPAA-compliant records.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of healthcare registration, scheduling, or customer service is required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Insurance verification and/or prior authorization experience required.
• Associate degree or healthcare certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
• Register patients and maintain accurate demographic information.
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorizations.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
• Explain financial responsibilities and payment options to patients.
• Obtain required consent and privacy documentation.
• Coordinate with providers, nurses, and insurance companies to support patient care.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
