Responsibilities

• Create and verify the patient record at registration to prevent duplicates and ensure accurate data.
• Check in/register patients; collect demographics, guarantor, insurance details and collect co-pays.
• Explain insurance basics and discuss financial responsibilities with patients; refer to Financial Advocates as needed.
• Adhere to HIPAA, EMTALA, and other regulatory requirements; obtain signatures as required.
• Schedule or coordinate appointments, provide test preparation instructions, directions, and assistance to patients.
• Deliver welcoming, professional service; answer calls, route inquiries, and assist with transportation or interpreter needs.
• Monitor electronic health record queues and follow department processes.
