Job summary

San Antonio Med Center Surgery Center is seeking a PRN RN for PACU overnight stay. The RN will provide continuity and quality care as patients recover from anesthesia, monitor conditions, ensure safety, comfort, and privacy, and support the surgical team in the PACU.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited RN program, active Texas RN license, BLS and ACLS (PALS if required), and at least 2 years in PACU or critical care. Weekdays only; no holidays, weekends, or on-call obligations.

Qualifications

• RN license required (TX)
• BLS and ACLS required
• PALS if required by center
• 2 years PACU/CCU experience preferred
• Strong communication and clinical judgment

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients emerging from anesthesia in PACU
• Monitor patient conditions and ensure safety, comfort, and privacy
• Assist physicians in procedures and maintain sterile technique as needed
• Coordinate with surgical team to prepare patients for discharge
