Job summary

Surgery Center of Boerne is seeking a PRN RN for PreOp/PACU to provide continuous quality care with ongoing patient assessment and safety. The role may involve assisting physicians with procedures, including sedation, and ensuring patient comfort from anesthesia through recovery.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited RN program background, Texas RN license, and certifications (BLS/ACLS; PALS if applicable).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient and unit needs.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients in PreOp/PACU with ongoing assessment of condition.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile technique.
• Deliver comprehensive care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation; plan and evaluate discharge readiness.
