Job summary

The Cradle Company in San Jose, CA is seeking an Overnight Newborn Care Specialist to start when the baby returns home from the hospital. You will provide attentive newborn care, including feeding, soothing and helping establish a sleep routine, while protecting parental sleep.

Ideal candidates are patient, gentle and experienced with newborns; vaccination requirements are listed. The schedule begins with 8-hour shifts, 7 days a week for the first two weeks, then 8 hours for 5 days a week

Qualifications

• Experience with newborns and overnight care.
• Ability to support feeding, soothing and sleep routines.
• Willingness to advise on breast milk supply as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide newborn care including feeding, sleep and overall baby support.
• Help protect parents' sleep while caring for the baby.
• Support the baby in developing a good sleep schedule.
• Advise on creating and increasing breast milk supply as needed.
• Maintain a calm, gentle and supportive environment.
• Communicate with parents about the baby’s needs and care.
