Job summary

The Medication Specialist at the GRIT program within Mental Health Association oversees safe medication practices in residential treatment for co-occurring disorders. You will train staff, coordinate with nurses and prescribers, and ensure accurate medication documentation and disposals.

The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines and maintaining Naloxone distribution and related training, with open night shifts and posted requirements within a structured program.

Qualifications

• Must complete BSAS Medication Training.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of applicable experience preferred.
• Ability to work first shift M-F with some flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Complete and document weekly medication audits for all participants.
• Maintain the medication tracking binder and scanned discharge records.
• Monitor outgoing and incoming paperwork for external appointments.
• Monitor the med room board for refills and new orders.
• Provide oversight and training for staff on medication-related tasks.
• Maintain Naloxone supply and training for staff/residents quarterly.
• Conduct regular medication disposals with Nurse Manager.
