Job summary

Mental Health Association in Massachusetts seeks a Medication Specialist to support safe medication practices within GRIT residential programs. You will serve as a liaison among nurses, prescribers, staff, and residents, ensuring compliant administration and recovery-focused care.

The role emphasizes training, oversight, and collaboration across disciplines, with a Monday–Friday 9am–5pm schedule. Prior BSAS training and strong organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BSAS Medication Training completed and BSAS Medication Specialist courses completed.
• Ability to work Monday–Friday first shift with some flexibility.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time, prioritize tasks, and cooperatively as part of a team.
• Strong oral, written, computer, and organizational skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Six months of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete and document weekly med audits and report med room errors.
• Maintain and scan discharge paperwork into the EHR.
• Monitor outgoing/incoming paperwork for external appointments.
• Track refills, pickups, and verify new medication orders.
• Provide staff training and oversight for medication tasks.
• Keep the med room clean, stocked, and organized.
• Coordinate with prescriber before weekly appointments.
• Assist staff with medication tasks when coverage is needed.
• Maintain Naloxone supply and provide related training.
• Perform medication disposals according to Nurse Manager schedule.
