Job summary

Mental Health Association seeks a Medication Specialist to support safe med practices within GRIT co-occurring residential programs. You will help with audits, record-keeping, and staff training to ensure compassionate, recovery‑oriented care across disciplines.

The role requires BSAS Medication Training completion, 18+ and a high school diploma or GED, plus experience in a program setting preferred. Monday–Friday schedule in a residential environment.

Qualifications

• BSAS Medication Training must be completed.
• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of program environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete and document weekly medication audits for program participants.
• Maintain the medication tracking binder and scan discharged residents' paperwork into the EHR.
• Monitor outgoing and incoming paperwork for external appointments.
• Ensure med room board reflects refills, pickups and new orders.
• Provide oversight and training for staff on medication-related tasks.
• Keep medication room orderly and stocked with supplies.
• Assist with procedures and information gathering for prescriber visits.
• Maintain Naloxone supply and provide training on overdose response.
• Conduct regular medication disposals per Nurse Manager timelines.
