Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited licensed nurse program.
• Current nursing license with no restrictions to practice nursing.
• Current CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Assist the Registered Nurse in delivering quality nursing services to persons supported
• Provide health related training to unlicensed personnel
• Administer medications and treatments or assist with medication administration
• Schedule and coordinate preventative and routine medical appointments
• Conduct medication closest assessments
• Collect health related data
• Observe for and report abnormal health findings to the physician
• Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team
• Advocate for people supported and develop community supports for optimal health
