Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a Charge Nurse - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide comprehensive overnight nursing care at one of our Iowa facilities. You will assess residents, plan care, administer treatments, and coordinate with the team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Iowa LPN license, current CPR certification, and a Supervisory Course completion or plan to obtain within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing in Iowa.
• Current CPR certification.
• Completion of State-approved LPN Supervisory Course within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing assessments of residents’ clinical status and contribute to individualized care planning.
• Deliver and oversee direct nursing care, including wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and other skilled interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, with proper documentation.
• Serve as a clinical leader on the unit by coordinating resident care and communicating with physicians, nurse leadership, residents, and families.
• Supervise and mentor CNAs and other staff to promote accountability and high-quality care.
• Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations and infection prevention practices.
• Provide education and emotional support to residents and families, fostering trust and understanding of care plans.
