Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a Charge Nurse - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Iowa for Full-Time or Part-Time Night shifts. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to residents across our skilled nursing communities with emphasis on safety, compassion, and quality outcomes.

You will lead care planning, supervise CNAs, administer medications, and coordinate with physicians and families while ensuring regulatory compliance and high standards of resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• Valid LPN license in Iowa
• Current CPR Certification
• Completion of State-approved LPN Supervisory Course or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations
• Demonstrates empathy, respect, patience and discretion

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing assessments of residents' clinical status and contribute to care planning.
• Deliver and oversee direct nursing care including wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and other interventions as ordered.
• Administer medications and treatments safely, with proper documentation.
• Coordinate resident care as unit clinical leader and communicate with physicians, leadership, residents and families.
• Supervise and mentor CNAs and other staff, promoting teamwork and high-quality care.
• Ensure adherence to regulations and infection prevention practices.
• Provide education, guidance and emotional support to residents and families.
