Job summary

Urban Peak is seeking a Minor Shelter Life Skills Manager - Overnights in Denver, CO. The role supervises youth ages 12-17 at the overnight shelter, delivers trauma-informed services, and coordinates with the Minor Shelter Case Manager to support family reunification or referrals within 21 days of entry.

The position requires 2 years of college or a HS diploma with 6+ years in human services, ability to engage diverse youth, and strong data/documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Two years of college; or a high school diploma or equivalent with six+ years in human services.
• Ability to connect with a diverse, street youth population.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment; set clear boundaries with youth.
• Knowledge of homeless adolescent issues, mental health and substance use.
• Provide trauma-informed, appropriate and effective services.
• Strong problem solving, organization, prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Document admission records and services provided to clients.
• Maintain accurate data and communications with staff.
• Ensure client confidentiality and secure storage of information.
• Complete thorough intakes and establish trust with youth.
• Assess needs at intake and make referrals.
• Provide milieu supervision and ensure youth safety and cleanliness of the shelter.
• Lead group activities and potential caseload management.
