Job summary

University Behavioral Health of Denton is a private freestanding psychiatric hospital offering inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services for adolescents and adults. The Intake Counselor conducts telephonic and in-person risk assessments to determine appropriate levels of care and coordinates referrals and admissions.

The role includes verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed, with an overnight shift Monday through Thursday, 9pm-7am.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in psychology, social work or related field preferred.
• A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.
• Currently licensed to practice as a LPC-Intern, LPC, LMSW, LCSW or RN in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic and in-person risk assessment to assist physicians in identifying level of care.
• Coordinate the referral and intake process and facilitate admission.
• Verify and obtain prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed.
