Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital Long Island is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Technician to join its Overnight Rapid Response team in Mineola, NY. You will provide hands-on support for end-user devices, clinical systems, printers, and mobile devices across the hospital, working independently during overnight hours to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

The role requires strong enterprise desktop support experience, familiarity with Active Directory, and a customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of desktop support experience within a Windows 10/11 enterprise environment.
• Strong break/fix troubleshooting skills across desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral technologies.
• Experience with hardware deployments, workstation refreshes, and operating system migrations.
• Familiarity with Active Directory and Microsoft technologies.
• Experience supporting mobile devices including iPhones and iPads.
• Experience supporting network connectivity issues and basic LAN troubleshooting.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests simultaneously.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service mindset and professionalism.
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts.
• Healthcare IT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite desktop support for physicians, nurses, administrative staff, and clinical personnel.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printer, operating system, and connectivity issues.
• Image, configure, deploy, and upgrade desktop computers, laptops, and workstations.
• Perform workstation replacements, refreshes, moves, additions, and changes.
• Deploy and support printers, scanners, peripherals, and clinical devices.
• Configure and support Wyse thin clients and virtual desktop environments.
• Configure and support iPhones, iPads, and mobile devices.
• Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot clinical and business software applications.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues involving wired and wireless devices.
• Support Active Directory user accounts, password resets, permissions, and access requests.
• Perform incident response and rapid remediation for end-user technology issues.
• Document troubleshooting activities, resolutions, and technical findings within the ticketing system.
