Job summary

The National Building Museum in Washington, DC is seeking a part-time Events Support staff to assist with overnight and evening operations, including setup and breakdown of tables and chairs, vendor oversight, and load-in/load-out procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • Facility or office management experience preferred.
  • Event logistics experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience operating A/V equipment a strong plus.
  • Professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a professional setting.
  • Computer competency.
  • Basic knowledge of how to set up and operate DVD, LCD projector, and sound equipment.
  • Capable of heavy physical work.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and move equipment and fixtures.

Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison with General Services Administration and building tenants to ensure events run smoothly.
  • Oversee client and vendor activities during events and load-out periods.
  • Ensure protection of the museum by conducting pre- and post-event inspections and reporting damages.
  • Coordinate with staff for internal program and event setup and breakdown.
  • Other duties as assigned.
