Job summary

MedVet is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician - Overnights in Atlanta to join our fast-paced ER team. You will work a 2-week alternating schedule, with shifts Monday through Saturday evenings and Sunday/Monday rotations, providing critical patient care in a high-energy environment.

Ideal candidates will be State Registered Veterinary Technician licensed or pursuing, with prior veterinary emergency experience, strong math skills for dosing and CRIs, and excellent communication with clients

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required, emergency experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRI, unit conversions, etc.).
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns
• Provide client education including home care instructions, medications and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing
