Job summary

Animal Emergency Center of Sandy Springs is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician to join a fast-paced, collaborative team. The role offers a consistent 12-hour schedule with 8:00 AM–8:00 PM shifts, Friday through Monday, in a busy emergency hospital setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience.
• Experience in Emergency, Urgent Care, Specialty, or high-volume General Practice.
• Strong foundation in veterinary nursing and patient care.
• Confidence working independently while remaining a collaborative team player.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• LVT credentials are preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on patient care while supporting veterinarians during emergency cases, procedures, and treatments.
• Perform patient triage and assist with emergency assessments.
• Obtain patient histories and monitor changes in patient condition.
• Venipuncture, blood collection, and IV catheter placement.
• Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed.
• Perform in-house laboratory diagnostics and prepare samples for reference laboratories.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical and emergency procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment sheets.
• Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and clients.
