Job summary

MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician - Overnights to join our fast-paced ER team in Atlanta, GA. You will perform triage, assist DVM, monitor patients, and provide client education in a high-stakes setting.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required, emergency experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRIs, unit conversions).
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and present organized rounds and gather case information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Collaborate with patient care team on treatment plans and nursing care.
• Educate clients on home care, medications, and hospital wellness updates.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation.
• Perform in-house labs and prepare samples for outside labs.
